5 Common Travel Problems and Their Solutions

Spread the love

Every time we travel for a personal or business trip with families or colleagues, we plan to make it smooth and hassle-free. But unfortunately, our effort does not work out properly. Things go wrong, and we face severe problems while traveling. Naturally, the situation creates tension, nervousness, panic, and frustration.

We have sorted out the most common five problems that you can face and also the tricks you can apply to get out of the situation:

Flight Overbooking

Although flight overbooking is not a legit activity by airlines, it is a reasonably common and legal act among flight service providers. Managements of airlines want to fill their flights with the maximum capacity. So they calculate a predictable number of passengers who won’t appear and sell extra tickets to fill the vacant seats.

But the problem arises when everyone shows up, and the flight gets almost occupied. Then flight attendants ask people to leave their seats voluntarily against a travel voucher. If no one is ready to do that, there is a high chance of being denied to travel on the same.

Solution: If you want to avoid this situation of getting bumped, do one thing: check the airport earlier and arrive at the lounge with your boarding pass. After that, you can buy an allocated seat instead of waiting for the new assignment at the gate. Even holding an airline credit card, you will be a part of their rewarding events. That can immensely help you in this situation.

Losing Passport

Nothing is so stressful as losing your passport while traveling on an international flight. It rained all excitement and happiness of the trip.

Solution: Immediately, you should lodge a report on the missing passport and contact the Embassy.

One measure you can take for safety besides this is to carry all essential documents digitally with you. You can keep photocopies in your main, including your credit card numbers. Also, you can follow one trick: carrying a decoy wallet and putting old cards in it. This trick will help you to prove who you are and where you are from easily without being present physically.

Bad Room Accommodation

It is a severe problem when someone gets a lousy room accommodation. But you must prepare yourself to face this issue with tricks to transfer the poor to a considerable abode.

Solution: So you should ask the hotel management to fix the problem. Also, you can do one thing; click the photos of what is displeasing you and show them to the manager. It will help if you also show them to your travel agent as you paid for the travel package.

In most cases, the hotel will arrange another good room for you. But there is another possibility of remaining the issue unsolved and switching to a different hotel even after taking these primary actions. So after returning home, you should write a letter to the manager briefing the problem you have faced.

Missed Flights

In this position, you must stay calm and leave your nervousness behind. And as this is your fault, panicking will not be the solution. So you might be thinking of changing flights, but the airline’s extra charge is another issue to worry about. Flight changing charges vary from airline to airline, but most stuff has the power to forsake the extra charge.

Solution: If you fly frequently, it can help you out from this problem. You can visit the nearby matey hotel to stay until the next flight. Even you can ask the known staff of that hotel to give you a wake-up call and a backup alarm, especially in case of an early morning flight. Besides this, you can also use your travel inquiry app to get updates on upcoming flights and real-time notifications of your flight.

Getting Sick

One serious problem during traveling is getting sick due to high altitude or climate change. But falling ill far away from home and close ones can make you feel isolated. That is a much-worsened feeling for anybody. It becomes more pathetic when access to healthcare in that country is limited. The situation becomes scarier as you are off to your families and care.

On the other side, if you have a language problem or communication deficiency, you will not be able to explain your health issues to medical professionals. So, this could be even more dangerous, sometimes life-threatening.

Solution: You must pack your first-aid box with other medical remedies. So when you foresee this need, it will give you the primary treatment most important for any patient.

In another case, when you visit any foreign hospital, you should have an accomplice who can do the paperwork and rest formalities, including medicines. If you doubt this, you can contact your medical insurance provider to know about the facilities you can get from overseas hospitals.
