La Tomatina

La Tomatina is one of the top festivities in Spain. Thousands and thousands of people visit Spain to enjoy this one. At this festival, everyone throws tomatoes at each other and it’s a tomato fight for entertainment purposes. It takes place in the town of Bunol which is present near Valencia. La Tomatina is celebrated in the last week of August. The entire town’s streets are covered in tomatoes, and it’s a wonderful joy to be there and a gesture of happiness. The festival is a part of a weeklong celebration in honor of the town’s Patron Saints, Luis Bertran, and the Virgin Mary, known as the Mare de Deu dels Desemparats (Mother of God of the Defenceless).

Feria del Caballo

The Feria del Caballo, often known as the Jerez Horse Fair, usually takes place the first or second week of May. The tradition of horse breeding culminates in the annual horse festival, Feria del Caballo, which is held in Jerez each year to feast on the visitors. It lasts a week, and travelers from all over the world come to see it. During the Feria del Caballo, you can watch cowboy and classical dressage, riding events, and polo, but the highlight is the carriage march, which is a wonderful sight. San Fermin (Pamplona Bull Run)

Another most famous Spanish festival is the San Fermin also known as the Pamplona bull run. It takes place annually in the city of Pamplona, Navarre in North Spain. It begins on July 6 at midday and ends on July 14 at midnight. The feasts are held in honor of a Catholic Saint each year. The primary event of this well-known fiesta that turns Pamplona into a never-ending party is the running of the bulls. Pamplona is well-known around the world for its San Fermin Festival celebration. Each year, thousands of people travel there to take part in the thrill and danger of the running of the bulls.

 

Las Fallas de Valencia

Fallas celebrations take over Valencia from March 1st to March 19th, a festival that combines tradition, irony, and art that should not be missed at any cost. This traditional celebration is done in the remembrance of Saint Joseph each year which lasts for some days in Valencia, Spain. It is one of the biggest festivals being celebrated in Spain. The yearly celebration of the arrival of spring known as Las Fallas de Valencia is marked by the burning of artistic structures in the manner of the early Valencian carpenters. The celebration also features spectacular 18th-century costumes, parades, and street parties.

 

Cordoba Patios Festival

Every year, during the first week of May, the city of Cordoba celebrates the Patios de Cordoba, a long-standing custom. The word “patios” means “courtyards,” and the festival honors the skill of intricately embellishing courtyards with countless vibrant flowers and plants. Many of Cordoba’s beautiful patios are showcased at the Patio Festival (Fiesta de Los Patios). Carnival
