5 Days Trip in the UK: Everything you must do here- Pt. 2

Do you live in the UK and want a short vacation but find yourself with little spending money? You are not alone. Take advantage of early booking and student savings on rail tickets. Depending on your location, you may want to extend some of them into a weekend break, while others may be feasible in a single day.

The Salt Room

In the Hilton Metropole, you’ll find the chic and roomy Salt Room on the ground level, with a vast balcony and unobstructed water views. The food is innovative (and costly) but not pompous. Beef Crudo with sour onions & truffle soy sauce, crab over violet artichokes, lemon, & ginger are two examples of the restaurant’s inventive starters. 

Most entrees include seafood, such as roasted skate wing, local hake, Cornish cod, and chargrilled stone bass. This grilled monkfish dish is served with chorizo mussels, herb salsa, and fries. The weekday tasting menu is £20 per person and includes aged sirloin, black-miso eggplant, and more. Enjoy the region’s finest seafood while taking in the scenery as the tide comes in.

York, Ambleside & Liverpool

Have a few drinks and a good time on this exciting trip. This five-day adventure will take you on a historical pub trip, some physical outings, and a brand-new football stadium—all in the city that birthed The Beatles. When you arrive in London, you may pick up your bags and take a short train ride to York, where you can learn about the city’s storied beer and bar scene. Try beers at each of the 15 bars along the way. The next day, after a morning spent in the heart of York, you will journey north here to Yorkshire Dales National Park for some outdoor exploration.

Our third day will be spent in the great outdoors, starting with a canoe trip to Lake District. Take in the panoramic views as you picnic between the picturesque rolling hills and imposing mountains. Please wear your walking shoes, because we are going on a tour of Buttermere. 

The places where Beatrix Potter once lived come to life on day four of an all-encompassing tour of Ambleside. You will get to do stand-up paddleboarding on your last morning before finishing your journey in Liverpool. Location: Bath and Somerset

Stop bickering over how to pronounce it and enjoy a journey back in time to Georgian times in the city of Bath. The well-preserved Roman Baths, which date back to roughly 70 AD and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are the city’s most recognized attraction.

Brighton Pier

Soft and flimsy, The 1,722-foot-long Brighton Pier is an iconic symbol of Victorian innovation (and, some would say, craziness). Why construct a lengthy platform in the ocean if the waves and weather would eventually destroy it? To give its full title, the Brighton Palace Pier is the last of three piers built at the same time to remain in use. 

We do not often visit old-fashioned penny arcades, rooms of mirrors, and carnival attractions, so their retro weirdness is noteworthy. At the height of summer, it becomes a veritable time capsule of, shall we say, “typical British beach enjoyment.”

Cambridge

Choosing between the two famous educational centers of Oxford and Cambridge was difficult, but Cambridge won because it is more attractive. Cambridge is a great day trip from London because of its beautiful historic architecture, especially the academic buildings like King’s College Chapel, St. John’s College, and the Fitzwilliam Museum, which has a beautiful collection of art and antiquities from Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Punt along the Cam River and relax in the university’s stunning 40-acre botanic garden on a nice day.

Ride your bike through Hadrian’s Wall
