Meidum Pyramid is off to the southern point of Cairo and is situated in Dahshur. Also, it is 72 kilometers away from the modern-day central city. People in Egypt believe this is the second Pyramid Pharaoh Huni constructed and commissioned during his kingdom. Hunt was the last Pharaoh of the third empire. After his rule, Sneferu continued the commissioning of this Meidum Pyramid. Sneferu was the pioneer of the 4th Dynasty.

The remarkable thing about this Pyramid is its structure. Hunt started to build up the Pyramid with the concept of the step, but in the middle of the construction, he changed his mind. And then, he turned the construction into smooth-faced architecture.

But this swift change of architectural concept resulted in partial destruction. Today visitors can see only the high section’s interior portion and the lower part’s debris.

It is considerably smaller than its nearby fellows, with an original height of 213 feet and a base of 356 feet.

Menkaure has three immense pyramids in its southern section. History says that these three smaller structures served as the burial chambers of Pharaoh’s queens. Even these three are noted as G3-a, G3-b, and G3-c accordingly.

During the middle ages, when Muslims started to impose a self-governing regime, Saladdin’s son Al-Aziz Uthman had framed up to demolish the site. After eight months of commencement, they captured the area and destroyed the creation. The northern part of the Menkaure Pyramid carries the ideography of Muslim endeavors.

Red Pyramid

The Red Pyramid came from the reddish shade of the limestone brought to build the Pyramid. It is the largest one in Dahshur, where no other pyramid states the first successful try to construct a smooth-armed pyramid. Only this Red one does. The timing of the construction dates back to the period between 2575 and 2551 BC, like another pyramid Sneferu.

It resembles the Great Pyramid of Giza but is not that small in size. And, is the third largest one in entire Egypt. It holds a base of 722 feet and a height of 344 feet at a comparatively fugitive angle of 43 degrees. For this reason, it looks much smaller than its original size. Even the top section of the Bent Pyramid flaunts the same architectural concept.
